Today, Historic Brown Chapel AME tour guides, Bruce & Linda Holmes, Sr., walked outside and down the sidewalk with the “Operation Understanding DC” tour group. This photo was taken on a very historic site. This is where Lewis Scott, ( who was a blind man) operated a store during the Civil and Voting Rights Movement. Many civil rights leaders and activists, as well as George Washington Carver Homes residents, purchased items from that store during the movement in 1965. The photo is taken next to a landmark honoring Lewis Scott.
